I have made a few changes to the site over the past few days. Firstly I have aimed at making this site work in Safari!! Nightmare, but I am getting there. I have added some useful links to the main navigation pages and will be adding more over time. I have added a Google search facility on my Contacts page. This allows you to search the world wide web and you can also specifically search my site!! Brill. This is a great bonus for any site as you can even customise the Google search results by adding your logo and colour scheme. Thanks Google! I have also added a new segment called "Quote of the Week" on the Home page, which might actually get updated more than once a week. I love quotes and write them down whenever I hear or read new ones, so I have a big back catalogue which I will be sharing with you all. There is also the chance to read the old quotes that I have posted on my site if you visit the Quotes page. There is not a link to this on the main navigation as this is only an add-on page. Enjoy the changes.
The web browser that is slowly taking over the world is Mozilla Firefox! And once you have tried it you won't surf with anything else.
The browser comes with various downloadable themes and extensions. The themes allow you to personalise the look of your browser and with new ones being created by designers all the time this can be a refreshing change when you are stuck in front of a computer 9-5 everyday. The one I currently use is the Noia 2.0 (eXtreme)2.82 and a good one for a laugh is the PimpZilla 2.0 version, which adds a bit of Bling to any desktop.
My favourite extension out there is the Web Developer Toolbar. This allows you to visit any site and look at the HTML code, the CSS, you can even hide the images, you can test to see what the site looks like on a smaller screen size, you can validate the code to see if the web designer actually knew what they were doing, you can outline the tables, and if you don't like the colours and styles you can edit them so suit your palette, and there is so much more!!
Another newly released extension is Foxytunes. This extension sits on your toolbar and allows you to control what music you are listening too without ever having to leave the browser. It works with iTunes and Windows Media Player and more.
Firefox has many more amazing Extensions and Themes so have a look.
Yup that's right folks Big Brother is back and I can't wait!
I know that most people think that anyone who watches Big Brother really needs to get a life but I swear it's addictive and as much as people slag it off- we all love to talk about it, bitch about it and guaranteed by the end of the summer we will all be hooked!
I also found this really funny link regarding Davina McCall. Yes, Davina is involved with Hug, an organisation which helps to promote "Whether it's a squeeze, a cuddle or a big bear hug, we all love a hug." Hehe-you have to visit this site because you can even do a hug quiz and download 'sexy' Hug wallpaper!!
Here is a lovely picture of our Davina hugging away. Bless her.

At last I will put you all out of your misery. For those who missed it the riddle was: What English word can have 4 of its 5 letters removed and still retain it's original pronunciation? ..well the answer is...Queue or Q! Clever isn't it? I have to admit I didn't get it and judging by the emails I received, not a lot of other people got it either.
The second website in my 'Weekly Favourite Websites Recommendation List' is Media Inspiration.
This site is jam packed with information for media gurus. It has really good Reviews, Artist Features, Site Features, Book Recommendations, Galleries, Downloads, chances to Submit your Own Work and Design Contests. Plus additional features such a Job Listings, Chat Room and a Forum, to exchange all sorts of comments and get help.
I never like to write too much about sites I recommend because it is easier just to visit it for yourself and make up your own mind. However if you do think this site is worth looking at then please post a comment on my site to let me know your thoughts and maybe make other recommendations.
Sorry for the lack of Blogging this week but I took a few days off work and enjoyed the luxury of a long weekend. I have been visiting my two favourite Brighton babes-Mel and Amy. Mel turned the grand old age of 25- to much fun and frolics! Happy Birthday gal. And Amy's birthday is just round the corner...watch this space. I am back now and ready to post again...
..What English word can have 4 of its 5 letters removed and still retain it's original pronunciation? Email all guesses to me and I will help you solve the riddle.
Ever fancied throwing a few punches at Michael Jackson, Tony Blair or even Mariah Carey? Well I have found you the perfect site. Go to Punch A Celeb and have your pick from the most annoying celebrities from the world of music, film, politics and sport to slap tastic. Really good for venting those Monday morning blues at work. Go on tell a friend and lets be out with the anger and in with the love hehe!

Over the next few weeks I will be posting information about the various sites I use for inspiration and for design ideas.
This week I would like to highlight the site Template Monster.
This is a site primarily aimed at individuals and companies wishing to purchase a template and its very much an e-commerce site. However the great thing about this site is that anyone can browse through their catalogue and learn from their great designs for free!
They have a vast range of web sites, flash sites, flash intros, logos and icons and you can search by specific categories to help narrow down the process. Most of the sites are extremely commercial but all are slick and as a newcomer to web design- they are a definitely worth checking out.
Another cheesy corker from the lovely and almost famous Debs (Ben really- it's a nickname that somehow has stuck like glue!) Q:What is white and runs round you garden? A:A Garden Fence! Only on joke two and already sensing this may be a bad idea. If you have another funny, unfunny, cheesy, silly, stupid joke then email me. Lets love the laughter!!
The Transport Research Institute (TRi) based at Napier University in Edinburgh, was an organisation I worked with for a few months before joining Net Resources. This is where I made one of my first attempts at building a website. They have recently launched this site and it's great to see something I helped to make- go live. Credit also to Debbie McEwan who contributed to the site after I left. It is amazing to see how much I have learnt from Net Resources when I take a look back at the TRi site. But I am happy that Debbie gave me the chance to help out.
My apologies to anyone who has been bitterly disappointed this week due to my lack of blogging!(Obviously joking) There has been a little hitch a Net Resources which has now been resolved by the genius that is 'Big Rob'. So not to fret- more random news, gossip and nonsense is about to hit your screens once more!
I found this book over a year ago in a little book shop in London. It is a constant source of inspiration. The book has practically no text and it's filled to the brim with pages and pages of the most amazingly designed web sites. So far there are five volumes all as creative as each other.
You can buy this on Amazon or go directly to the Web Design Index website.

Found this amazing site that's aimed at anyone in the creative world! If you are a web designer, flash animator, graphic designer, illustrator, photographer or just have some doodles u want to show off, then you can go to Alpha Omega Digital and create a portfolio site for free. You can include all your contact details and a maximum of six pieces of work. I thought there might be a catch but I haven't found it yet. So for those of you who don't have a site..you've got no excuses now.
If you don't already know then the Freelancers Network is a great site for listing your skills (for free) and finding all sorts of work and projects. Its quick and easy to join and worth it!

Just wanted to highlight the site ShortROUND Productions. This is a portfolio site for my mate Owen Matthews who has a wicked little collection of his films to view. He even has a few snaps of himself at work along with my other uni buddies such as Amy Langfield and Sam Tyler. Well done Owen you're a directing genuis!
Found these really cool and slightly weird cartoons by an animation genius called David Firth. If you like dark and odd humour you will like these. My favourite is the 'Salad Fingers' series. Reminds me of Tim Burton's work and in particular his book The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy.

This one was kindly given to me by the lovely crazy Mel: Q:What's the connection between getting up in the morning and a pigs tail? A:It's tw-early!! Oh hehehehe chuckle chuckle. Any silly jokes let me know and I will post them up. Remember- A joke a day, keeps depression at bay!
This is my Blog about design, life and anything else I care to throw into the mix. Enjoy
